My name is Jessie Baird
Dear KB-PM Parents and Families,
My name is Jessie Baird and I am proud to be your child’s teacher this year! This will be my 8th year teaching kindergarten. In the past I have had experience as a Social and Cognition teacher for Pediatric Therapy Network, full day kindergarten for LAUSD and taught 2nd and 3rd grade summer school. In addition, I am a board member for the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation.
Kindergarten is my favorite grade to teach because it is the foundation for each child's academic career. I also love to see the amazing growth that each student makes by the end of the school year. I believe in an active classroom environment full of singing, smiles, sillies, and fun, all while mastering the Kindergarten standards, learning self control and responsibility.
I was raised in Humboldt County. My little town of 1800 people is Bigfoot Capital of the World! I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Exercise and Health Science. There, I played on the women's rugby team and met my husband, Zach. Zach was born and raised in the South Bay, so after graduating we moved back to his beautiful home: Redondo Beach. I received my teaching credential and Master’s degree from Antioch University.
My husband and I enjoy spending time with our daughter Mackenzie and are looking forward to the arrival of our son in December. I like traveling, camping, going to the beach, riding our bikes, playing golf, watching sports, and going to UCLA and Dodger games. Go Blue! I LOVE: laughing, country music, spending time with family, teacher supply stores, magazines, cooking, reading, COFFEE, going out to breakfast, and technology.
I love to involve parents in all parts of their child’s education. If you or other family members are interested in becoming a parent volunteer, please attend our Kindergarten Parent Volunteer Training meeting on Wednesday, September 8th at 2:30 PM. If you can’t attend, just let me know and I will set up time to meet.
